The Strategic Revisioning of a Hidden Mountain Gem
Nestled against the backdrop of the Bradshaw Mountains and the picturesque Prescott National Forest lies the historic western town of Prescott, Arizona. Renowned for its Victorian downtown architecture and the saloons lining Whiskey Row, Prescott offers a fantastic western atmosphere in the high-country of central Arizona.
Just a few turns down valley, you'll find The Club at Prescott Lakes - A hidden mountain gem of a golf course, premier residential community and active social athletic facility. The Club at Prescott Lakes was developed as the social anchor to the residential community, and the golf course has become a much coveted membership within central Arizona.
As the club aged, so did the golf course design, bunkering and green surrounds. In 2022 Ken Baker Golf Design toured the project and developed a strategic revisioning that included the reduction of total bunkering by over 50%, reshaping of the remaining bunkers to improve visibility, playability, golfer access and ease of maintenance, and the creation of new greenside fairway chipping hollows to add a missing shot value to the course.
In 2023 we broke ground on the project with a skilled contractor and the determination to complete all work through the summer growing season. While the weather on most days was absolutely spectacular, the project team did have to withstand periods of summer heat, mountain rains and even a bit of hail. Everyone worked diligently to create a renewed golf layout that enhances the natural beauty of this mountain environment.

Following our million+ dollar bunker renovation and redesign, The Club at Prescott Lakes will officially reopen the golf course on Sunday, October 1.
With over 100,000 man-hours, blood, sweat, and swears our newly designed 18-hole course is now ready to challenge and elevate your game.
